What is RPSC RAS?

Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) is a state-level civil services exam conducted by Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). The exam is also known as RAS/RTS Combined Competitive Exam or Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Exam.

The exam is conducted to fill Group-A and B vacancies in the state of Rajasthan. The Group-A and B vacancies are usually released for recruitment in the following administrative state and subordinate services:

RPSC RAS Eligibility

The basic eligibility criteria for RPSC RAS 2019 exam includes:

  • Candidates should obtain a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
  • Candidates should be minimum 21 years and maximum 40 years in age as on January 1, 2020. For non-gazetted employees, the minimum age limit is 25 years and maximum age limit is 45 years as on January 1, 2020

RPSC RAS Selection Process

The RPSC RAS selection process includes the following three stages:

  • Preliminary exam: This is an objective-type screening test of 200 marks. Candidates need to complete the paper in three hours duration.
  • Main exam: This is a descriptive-/ analytical-type written test. The test contains four papers of 200 marks each. Time allowed to complete each paper is three hours.
  • Personality/ viva-voce exam: Candidates qualifying the Main exam need to appear for a personality test/ interview. The weightage for the personality test is 100 marks.
